Refractive Errors & Contact Lens
Glasses are prescribed to correct refractive errors and improve vision. In Children, Glasses improve vision and help to treat amblyopia (Lazy Eye).
Types of Refractive Errors:
- Myopia (Nearsightedness)- Myopic Patients have good near vision without glasses as compared to distant vision. Light rays entering the eye focus in front of the retina.
- Hyperopia (Far sightedness) – Hyperopic patients have better distance vision without glasses as compared to near vision. Light rays entering the eye focus behind the retina.
- Presbyopia – The eyes gradually lose the ability to see nearby things clearly with advancing age. It is a normal part of aging and starts at around 40 years of age.
Content Lenses can be worn instead of glasses to correct refractive errors. We have the facility of Soft CL and RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) Lenses at our clinic. We also have an optical center for the spectacles
